Introduction
The Department of Plant Resources has been established with the aim of studying, researching, identifying, documenting, chemical analysis and verification of the diversity of plant resources found in Nepal, health and environmental conservation, enhancement and sustainable development. The Department of Botany has been established to carry out the necessary studies, research, technology development and transfer of technology for the comprehensive development of plant resources of plants, utilization and mainstreaming of plant resources in the gross domestic product of the state. The Department of Botany has been mobilizing various types of scientists as manpower as an effort to move forward by studying, researching, promoting and promoting plants in a multifaceted manner and in the future, by making proper use of plant resources and connecting them with production, they can contribute to the gross domestic product of the state. increasing.
Mainly, the Department of Plant Resources has been doing various publications in the form of Nepal Flora to document the flowering and non-flowering plants in Nepal. For example: Flora of Rajnikunj started with Flora of Kathmandu Valley, Flora of Langtang, Flora of Phulchoki, and recently other regional floras are also being published. In the last decade, the Department of Botany has started the publication of non-flowering plants. Now we are planning to continue the work on the documentation of bryophytes, plums and mushrooms.
National Botanical Award

The Rastriya Wanaspati Puraskaar is awarded to the person, team or, organization for their contribution on identification, study, research, technology development, conservation and sustainable development of plant resources. The Rastriya Wanaspati Puraskaar was established in The amount of National Botanical Award is Rs.2 lakh. This award is given by the Department of Botany on National Botany Day, Chaitra 29th.
